BACKGROUND: This research evaluated the effectiveness of an online education model in teaching breast self- examination to university staff and students.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: 1,679 women participated in a breast self-examination online training program. Breast self-examination knowledge evaluation forms developed by Maurer (1997) were used in the research and were evaluated on a 100 point scale. Paired t-test and McNemar's Test statistics were employed.

INTRODUCTION: Skin tumours can be malignant or benign. Skin cancer is the most common malignancy among Caucasians and noted to be rare in Africans and negroid skin. In view of the rarity of skin cancers in Africans, there is delayed diagnosis; and consequent advanced presentation and poor prognosis.

A 70-year-old woman with a history of non-Hodgkin lymphoma presented with left-sided facial pain. MRI of the face, orbit, and neck was negative (figure). A week later, she developed hypesthesia in a V3 distribution. Repeat MRI was again nondiagnostic but FDG-PET showed increased uptake along the left V3 branch of the trigeminal nerve, as well as in the parotid gland. Biopsy of the left parotid confirmed recurrent lymphoma.

We present the case of a 12-year-old girl referred to Kigali University Teaching Hospital (KUTH) for persistent cough, fever and haemoptysis. Respiratory symptoms started acutely with a stridor at age 4. Thereafter she developed a chronic cough with intermittent fever.
