Lejomyoma of the bladder is an uncommon lesion and usually present as small intramural or submucosal lesions. Preoperative evaluation based on careful physical and radiologic examinations must rule out malignant and other lesions. It is readily and successfully treated in most cases with transurethral or open resection. The prognosis of this tumor is excellent and no malignant degeneration has been reported. PURPOSE: Chronic urinary catheters induce histological changes in the bladder with time. The exact etiology of these changes is postulated to arise from inflammation and local tissue response. BACKGROUND: The aim of the study was to assess the number of urinary tract infections, the time between catheterization and the development of bacteriuria, the route taken by the microorganisms and the clinical relevance of infection in patients with bladder catheterization during a short time.
METHODS: 83 patients were evaluated by urine culture from the bladder, urethra, the connection of the catheter and the collecting system, and the collecting bag, on a daily basis during the 5 initial days, with clinical and microbiological follow up to 7 days after the removal of the catheter.

An unusual case of the signet-ring cell carcinoma of the bladder was reported. A 62-year-old Japanese male had a three-month history of intermittent, painless and gross hematuria. He was found to have a small egg-sized bladder tumor near the right ureteral orifice. A cytologic diagnosis of signet-ring cell carcinoma was made on a bladder washing and was confirmed by cytoscopic biopsy and surgical specimens.

The relative incidence and intensity of oviposition in schistosomiasis in different layers of both the urinary bladder and the ureter are presented. Bovine enzootic hematuria (BEH) is characterized by chronic hematuria and neoplasms in the urinary bladder. From 2013 to 2016, 64 bovine urinary bladders were collected at a slaughterhouse in Rosario de Lerma, Salta, Argentina.
