Based on previously identified dicarboximides with significant anticancer and immunomodulatory activities, a series of 26 new derivatives were designed and synthesized by the Diels-Alder reaction between appropriate diene and maleimide or hydroxymaleimide moieties. Cultivation of neonatal mouse testis tissue can induce spermatogenesis and produce fertile sperms. However, in vitro spermatogenesis mediated by the current organ culture method comes short in fully mimicking the in vivo counterpart, partly due to a lack of knowledge underlying molecular phenotypes of in vitro spermatogenesis. In this study, we investigated transcriptome of cultured testis tissues using microarray method. Principle component analysis of the transcriptome data revealed delay and/or arrest of spermatogenesis and immediate radical immune reactions in the cultured testis tissues.

GNA13 is a G protein involved in modulating tumor proliferative capacity, infiltration, metastasis, and migration. Genomic alteration of GNA13 was frequently observed in follicular lymphoma (FL). In this study, we examined 167 cases of FL by immunostaining of GNA13 using tissue microarray to evaluate the clinical significance. While angiotensin II (ang II) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of cardiac cachexia (CC), the molecules that mediate ang II's wasting effect have not been identified.
