INTRODUCTION: Extrapulmonary manifestations of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) may play a critical pathobiological role and a deeper understanding will advance insight into mechanisms and novel therapeutic targets. INTRODUCTION: Few data exist on the issue of visual impairment (VI) in people living with HIV (PLHIV).
OBJECTIVE: To identify the causes of visual impairment among people living with HIV (PLHIV) at the University Hospital of Libreville.
POPULATION AND METHODS: This was an observational study of 737 people living with HIV (PLHIV). The parameters studied were age (year), gender, CD4 count, age of infection, use of antiretroviral therapy as well as visual acuity from far and near (CMI-11) and cause of VI.

PURPOSE: To investigate microvascular changes in the retina and choroid of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) patients in comparison with healthy control subjects.
METHODS: This observational clinical cohort study included 36 CTEPH patients (72 eyes) and 65 healthy control subjects (130 eyes). BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: A safety and feasibility study was conducted using balloon angioplasty to treat ophthalmic artery (OA) stenoses in patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with geographic atrophy (GA).

CASE REPORT: A 5-year-old male presented with bilateral poor vision, esotropia and a previous diagnosis of cataract since he was 1 year old. Cytochrome oxidase activity from the retina can be enhanced or depressed by free radical-mediated reactions both in positive and negative aspect.
