Chemoablation is an emerging treatment for urothelial carcinomas. This review provides an overview of the evidence for intracavitary chemoablation in the treatment of urothelial carcinomas. The benefits of such agents include a reduction in morbidity and diseased organ preservation. Transvesicoscopic ureteral reimplantation is increasingly being used as the first choice to correct POM, replacing the open extravesical approach. Hemorrhagic cystitis (HC) occurring after allogeneic transplantation significantly affects quality of life and, in some cases, becomes intractable, increasing the risk of death. Patients with congenital and acquired neurogenic bladder dysfunction due to central and peripheral nervous lesions are significantly limited in their daily lives. PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect of Terazosin (alpha1 adrenergic blocker) on bladder emptying in children with posterior urethral valves.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Forty-two children with significant post void residual urine after valves ablation were placed on Terazosin ranging from 0.25 to 2 mg. Post void urine at the commencement and at follow up was monitored with abdominal ultrasound.

Children who present with urinary tract infections (UTIs) and a fever, and who had negative radioloogical tests for vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), are often tested further with a voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG). If the VCUG is negative, health care providers and parents become frustrated, as the search for a definitive diagnosis becomes more elusive. If conventional tests do not provide the expected diagnosis of VUR, it is essential for nurses and other health care providers to be aware of alternative methods for further evaluation.

A 17-year-old male boy presented with clinical features of pseudohypospadias (small penile stump with absent distal penile urethra) associated with very small capacity bladder and bilateral grade IV vesicoureteric reflux following suprapubic urinary diversion for multiple urethro-cutaneous fistula and periurethral abscess which developed as a consequence of inappropriate initial management of urethral trauma. This case highlights the importance of the initial management of urethral trauma and the management of its rare complication.
