The aim of our study was to estimate the viability of cat epididymal sperm in short time storage at +4 degrees C and in long term storage at -196 degrees C and to assess the percentage of live sperm in fresh semen using eosin/nigrosin staining compared to the flow cytometry method. Infectious agents were isolated from the spleens of three wild mice (Apodemus argenteus) by intraperitoneal inoculation of the spleen homogenate into laboratory mice. Fifty-nine cases of tuberculous meningitis in children seen at the Charity Hospital at New Orleans since the addition of isoniazid to the therapy in 1952 are reviewed. Fourteen of the children died during hopsitalization. At discharge 21 children had complete or nearly complete clinical recovery.
