Radioreceptor-binding assay combined with autoradiography technique in the brain slices of rats was used to investigate cerebral areas related to electroconvulsive shock (ECS) and to analyze changes of opioid receptors of these areas in electroacupuncture (EA) anticonvulsion. We have examined the plasma membrane glycoproteins of platelets from three unrelated patients with the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. Single- or two-dimensional SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis was performed. Previous studies using immunofluorescence and autoradiography demonstrated the presence of specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) receptors on rat mast cells (RMC). The migration of isotopically labelled schistosomula of Schistosoma mansoni from the skin to the hepatic portal system of baboons was tracked by autoradiography of compressed organ preparations. Passage of schistosomula from skin to lungs was rapid between days 2 and 5, 72% of applied parasites being detected in the lungs at the latter time. The turnover of proteoglycans in the extracellular matrix was studied in fibroblasts cultures derived from patients with mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) and healthy donors. In the present investigation, the binding and uptake of 63NiCl2 was studied in human thymocytes and in peripheral blood lymphocytes from nickel-allergic and control subjects.
