von Willebrand disease (vWD) is an inherited bleeding disorder that is characterized by a quantitative or qualitative deficiency of the von Willebrand factor (vWF). Abdominoplasty is one of the most popular body-contouring procedures. It is associated with a significant number of complications: the most common ones are seroma, hematoma, infection, wound-healing problems, and skin flap necrosis. Custom-fabricated silicone implants were used in 17 patients to reconstruct thoracic deformities associated with pectus excavatum, hypoplasia of the thorax, and radical mastectomy.
