Cordycepin (CRD) is an active component derived from Cordyceps militaris, which possesses multiple biological activities and uses in liver disease. However, whether CRD improves liver fibrosis by regulating hepatic stellate cell (HSC) activation has remained unknown. BACKGROUND: Salivary oxidative stress has been extensively studied with attempts to correlate changes in the oxidative stress markers with local and systemic factors, including smoking. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of two forms of smoking, cigarettes and waterpipe smoking (WPS), on selected oxidative stress biomarkers in saliva.
