We describe the case of a female with end-stage renal disease who developed a left ischemic hand and index finger gangrene 2 years after commencement of hemodialysis. Ray amputation was performed, however, the surgical wound was complicated by progressive soft tissue necrosis and metacarpal bones exposure. We report on a form of multiple epiphyseal dysplasia with striking acromelic shortness in a woman and five of her ten children. The somatometric and metacarpo-phalangeal pattern profile of the affected individual showed short limb dwarfism and shortness of all the tubular bones of the hand. INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: Burn still the major cause of disabilities and challenge facing both patient and surgeon, and when hands were affected a comprehensive planning and work must be obtained to restore functional and aesthetic aspects of hand. Tensor fascia lata (TFL) considered since centuries a useful tool to save hand post burn either it was been harvested with pedicle or as free flap. Although pedicle TFL became seldom but it may be the best option for hand reconstruction. In this article we report a case of hand burn that was managed by pedicle TFL.

Osteochondromas are the most common benign bone tumours and account for 20 to 50% of benign bone tumours and 10 to 15% of all bone tumours. They usually occur in long bones; 40% occur around the knee joint, but in the hand they are uncommon and usually affect the proximal phalanx. The metacarpal is rarely involved. We report a 32-year-old man with a recurrent solitary osteochondroma of the metacarpal.

A xeroradiographic investigation of the skull, hand and elbow bones were carried out by the authors in 50 patients with beta-thalassemia major and in 14 with beta-thalassaemia intermedia. A case of monostotic fibrous dysplasia of a long bone of the hand is reported. There has been only one similar case recorded, though it is not uncommon in other long bones. The diagnosis was proved by histology, and the tumour treated by subperiosteal excision. There has been no recurrence after 31 months, though in similar cases excision including the periosteum has been advised to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
