A previously healthy 22-year-old woman was admitted with a complaint of right upper quadrant abdominal pain for 2 weeks. Her past history was not remarkable. On admission, HBsAg and anti-HCV were negative and alpha-FP was within normal range. Visceral artery pseudoaneurysms are rare but life-threatening complications following upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgery. This case series reviews six patients (male-to-female ratio 3:3) who developed pseudoaneurysms, presenting with diverse clinical manifestations. BACKGROUND: Endometriomas are a type of ovarian cyst composed of degenerated blood products from hemorrhage of ectopic endometrial tissue. Endometriomas can rupture, causing hemoperitoneum, and present with signs and symptoms similar to other, more common abdominal emergencies. Therefore, they are not often diagnosed preoperatively. Ultrasound and cross-sectional imaging can assist in diagnosis of endometriomas. Two ferrets were presented to the authors' clinic. Hemoperitoneum was diagnosed in one ferret, and an abdominal mass was palpated in the other.
