A concurrent infection of chicken anemia virus (CAV) and infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) was detected in Japanese native chicks in 2017, in which a high mortality rate (97.7%) was recorded in a small flock of 130 chicks exhibiting poor growth. AIM: Mortality in a broiler chicken farm was investigated for identifying the cause of mortality.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A broiler farm with a population of 16000 succumbed to a disease outbreak. Clinical signs, vaccination history and mortality, were recorded. Necropsy examination and microscopic examination were carried out along with toxicological and molecular studies.

We report a case of malignant melanoma (MM) originating in the maxillary sinus in an 84-year-old man, who was initially misdiagnosed with large-cell lymphoma based on fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC). The cytological specimens showed a clear background with loosely cohesive, monotonous, and large atypical cells exhibiting high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratios and irregular nuclear contours without recognizable melanin pigment at the time of evaluation. OBJECTIVES: To investigate CMV infection in severe fetal malformations in China.
STUDY DESIGN: During 2007-2014, 436 fetuses (237 males) with severe malformations and terminated pregnancy at median gestational age of 26(+1) weeks were enrolled. CMV DNA was detected in fetal kidneys and other tissues by real-time PCR, and CMV IgG and IgM were measured by ELISA.
