A 45-year-old man presented with a pigmented lesion on his face. A clinical diagnosis of melanocytic nevus was made and the lesion was excised. Histopathologic examination showed a reticular seborrheic keratosis associated with a junctional nevus. We discuss the relation of nevocellular nevi with epidermal and adnexal tumors.

The nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn (SNJ) is a congenitally-occurring, hamartomatous disorder of the skin and its adnexa of infrequent occurrence. This presentation of five cases emphasizes the smooth, waxy, yellow-brown lesion's progression into a thickened sebaceous tumor of premalignant predilection. The incidence of neoplastic degeneration of these hamartomatous nevi may be as high as 30% with the capacity of metastasis occasionally reported. A split-thickness skin graft from the abdomen was successfully used to resurface the entire auricle following full-thickness excision of a congenital nevocellular nevus. We found no previous report describing the use of skin grafts to successfully resurface the entire ear and achieve an acceptable aesthetic result.

We studied 130 specimens of nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn. All structures derived from the surface ectoderm were found to be affected in varying degree. Several different histologic patterns were discerned. The nosological position of nevus sebaceus is discussed, and it is concluded that nevus sebaceus is a hamartoma that involves both epithelial and non-epithelial elements of the skin.

The nevus spongiosus albus mucosae (resp. white sponge nevus in the angloamerican literature) is a hereditary leukokeratosis localised preferably in the oral mucosa, but may simultaneously manifest itself in other regions, e.g. perianally. We report the case of a 18-year old patient with a primarily and exclusively extraorally located nevus spongiosus albus mucosae of the vulva. The differential diagnosis and clinical as well as therapeutical problems of this extremely rare disease are discussed.

An 18-year old Japanese woman with folded skin in the forehead and scalp was found to have an underly Brachycephaly with peculiar hair lines, broad and sparse eyebrows, bilateral epicanthi, and decreased neck-shoulder angles were found, as well as reticular pigmentation of fingers and toes. Routine laboratory data and endocrine analyses were within normal limits. Combined longitudinal and coronal incisions in the forehead and scalp initially, followed by gull-wing incisions along the eyebrows, resulted in satisfactory improvement of the clinical appearance.

A 44-year-old man with Sturge-Weber syndrome developed a basal cell carcinoma at the site of a nevus flammeus on his right cheek, which had been treated with a course of grenz rays at six years of age without obvious improvement. He also exhibited erythematous papulovesicular lesions on the upper trunk, which histologically proved to be transient acantholytic dermatosis. The association of nevus flammeus and basal cell carcinoma is extremely rare; to the best of our knowledge, only four similar cases have been previously reported.

We report the case of a girl with a large epidermal nevus involving the right superior part of the body, i.e. scalp, face, neck, chest, and oral mucosa. Stress is laid on the clinical features of the mucosal involvement of the épidermal nevus syndrome.

Dyskeratosis follicularis like changes are reported on a pigmented intradermal naevus (follicular infundibulum) from the nose of a 23 years old woman with no other stigmata of Darier's disease. These findings are discussed at the light of Ackerman's concept of focal acantholytic dyskeratosis and the relevant literature is reviewed.

Vitiligo, a skin condition characterized by depigmentation, is classified into segmental and non-segmental forms based on onset and distribution. While halo nevi typically accompany non-segmental vitiligo, this report documents a rare case where a halo nevus transitioned into segmental vitiligo in an adolescent male.
