There is little research on the role of urethrectomy during cystectomy in patients with micropapillary bladder cancer (MPBC). We present two cases of MPBC cystectomy and suggest that urethrectomy be performed concurrently as a preventive measure. Two cases of uretero-arterial fistulas are reported occurring in two patients after pelvic exenteration for cancer with cutaneous ureterostomy. In the first case a pelvic irradiation has been performed before surgery; in the other case a high degree of atherosclerosis was noted. Anatomical variations of external iliac vein tributaries have not been previously described, whereas multiple classifications of internal iliac vein tributaries exist.

METHODS: Our modified vertical rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap uses a smaller flap size with a full-thickness skin graft posteriorly to decrease the size of the abdominal wall defect.
