Sarcomatoid carcinoma is a malignant tumor of epithelial origin, some of the cells of which are differentiated in a sarcomatoid direction and are highly invasive. Sarcomatoid renal pelvis carcinoma (SRPC) is very rare. This article reports on an elderly woman with SRPC and discusses the clinical and pathological features and prognosis of SRPC in the hope of providing a reference for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.

Urothelial carcinoma is the fourth most common genitourinary tumor with the majority of the tumor involving the urinary bladder. Only 5% involves the renal pelvis and ureter. Metastatic urothelial carcinoma of the renal pelvis frequently involves the lymph nodes, lung, liver, bone, and peritoneum. We share rare interesting F-FDG PET/CT images of a 60-year-old man with metastatic urothelial carcinoma of the renal pelvis to the bowel.

The aim was to report our experience with delayed colo-anal anastomosis (DCA) to avoid permanent stoma for complex rectal cases evaluating short- and long-term outcomes. Nine patients who underwent DCA from 2011 to 2016 were collected and analysed case by case. We considered medical history and surgical outcomes. The effective reproduction number, R, is a predominant statistic for tracking infectious disease spread and informing health policies. An estimated R = 1 is universally interpreted as a stability threshold distinguishing epidemic growth (R > 1) from control (R < 1). METHODS/RESULTS: We describe a case of spontaneous rupture of considerable size in the renal pelvis arising from a calculus in the pelvic ureter. A significant urinary extravasation was produced which became infected. Percutaneous drainage was performed. Repair of the reptured renal pelvis and stone removal were achieved by open surgery.

A 45-year-old male patient presented with rupture of the left renal pelvis after blunt abdominal trauma. The patient had preexisting bilateral megaureters with secondary obstruction of the pyeloureteral junction. The underlying disease was a persisting type III posterior urethral valve. Diagnosis of renal pelvis rupture and the underlying malformation was achieved sonographically and by abdominal CT scan. The left kidney was exposed at the time of admission and a pyeloplasty according to Anderson-Hynes was carried out. Secondarily the urethral valve was resected.
