PURPOSE: To describe the 10-year clinical outcome of the first patient worldwide who underwent Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK).
METHODS: In 2006, a 63-year-old man presented at the Melles Cornea Clinic, Rotterdam, with bilateral Fuchs endothelial dystrophy and cataract. After phacoemulsification, in vivo DMEK was performed in the left eye and 10 months later in the right eye. PURPOSE: To assess the outcomes of congenital/developmental cataract from a tertiary eye care hospital in Northwest Nigeria.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the long-term therapeutic effect of capsular tension ring (CTR) suture fixation in patients with lens subluxation.
ME … 1 eye developed posterior capsular opacification (PCO) during follow-up, which was treated with YAG posterior capsulotomy.
CONCLUSION: CTR suture fixation can effectively improve visual acuity, maintain stable IOP, and has a low complication rate in patients with lens subluxation. It provides a safe and effective treatment method for lens subluxation.

BACKGROUND: We present a case of aphakic pupil block caused by vitreous prolapse into the anterior chamber following Nd:YAG capsulotomy.
CASE PRESENTATION: This resulted in advanced glaucoma in a young patient, which presented a significant clinical management challenge.
CONCLUSIONS: Ultimately, at the time of writing, her intraocular pressure and uveitis were well controlled, however the long-term outcome remains uncertain, given the uncompromising natural history of her complicated ocular condition.

Between June 1987 and June 1992, 62 tibiae in 52 patients underwent lengthening by using the Ilizarov technique. Follow-up was from 18 months to 5 years. The mean age at surgery was 12.9 years (range, 5-19). The etiology of limb shortening was congenital in 53 and acquired in nine tibiae. Thirty-five tibiae had bifocal and 27 had unifocal treatment. The authors evaluated the visual acuity and binocular functions after implantation of an intraocular lens in 33 eyes in 29 children aged 5 to 15 years. In this study we analysed the overall incidence and the types of complications seen after cataract surgery and implantation of posterior chamber intraocular lenses (PC-IOLs) based on a review of 1460 explanted PC-IOLs.
