The authors present a case of a gastroduodenal artery pseudoaneurysm in a patient with a medical history of pancreatic surgery. The lesion was found and evaluated by ultrasound, CT-angiography and then treated with trans-catheter embolisation. This mini-invasive approach led to a complete resolution of the lesion.

Spontaneous recanalization of a chronically occluded internal carotid artery (ICA) is a rare occurrence. The authors report 3 patients who had documented total occlusion of the ICA followed by late spontaneous recanalization with subsequent high-grade stenosis. We present a 37-year-old woman with a rare combination of absent pericardium with congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Only 3 patients with congenital diaphragmatic hernia with complete absence of pericardium and ectopic liver have been described, and all of them were neonates. This interesting case gives us an opportunity to study the natural history of this rare combination of anatomic defect and consolidate the existing scarce data on this condition.

A complete atrioventricular canal defect occurs when an embryonic common atrioventricular valve fails to divide completely into 2 common atrioventricular valves. Tetralogy of Fallot is an abnormal embryologic development in which an unequal conotruncal division results in a small pulmonary artery and a large aortic artery. BACKGROUND/AIM: In patients with acute central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), dynamic angiography may reveal the presence of pulsatile flow (termed here pulsatile venular outflow, PVO) within first order veins (that is, the large veins). The main goal of this study was to investigate the mechanism underlying PVO.

The acute impact of transcatheter atrial septal defect (ASD) closure on left ventricular (LV) diastolic function was assessed in 15 consecutive children, and pre- and postclosure data were compared with those in a matched group of controls. The data indicate that transcatheter ASD closure leads to an immediate improvement in LV diastolic function as assessed by septal myocardial Doppler tissue imaging and LV inflow velocity propagation. The improvement in LV diastolic properties correlates with the degree of right ventricular volume overload.
