The authors have analyzed their experiences with using endovideosurgical technologies in surgical treatment of 67 patients with perforation of gastroduodenal ulcers. The diagnosis was made in all the patients using laparoscopy, in 56.7% esophagogastroduodenoscopy was used. Immediate and short-term results of endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) for primary hyperhidrosis are good. Adverse effects have been identified clearly and are supposed to decrease with time. In this institutional report, the long-term results of ETS with regard to efficacy, side effects and patient satisfaction are presented. Fifteen patients were included and mean follow-up time was 12+/-2 years. ETS success rate, rate of compensatory sweating and degree of patient satisfaction were assessed. We report the case of a 25-year-old African-American man presenting to the Henry Ford Hospital emergency department with acute dyspnea secondary to a pneumothorax resulting from a migratory acupuncture needle. The patient received acupuncture treatment approximately 5 years prior to this presentation for treatment of posttraumatic chronic right shoulder pain. BACKGROUND: Primary pulmonary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a very rare neoplasm. It is represented most commonly by marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) type. Although there have been a few reviews of this lymphoma, clinical features, diagnostic procedure, optimal management and prognostic factors have not been well defined.
