Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) has been associated with antiresorptive therapy in both oncology and osteoporosis patients. Secondary osteoporosis is a frequently underestimated bone disorder. It is a secondary cause of bone loss that affects more than half of men and premenopausal and perimenopausal women, and about one-fitfth of postmenopausal women. We herein report an uncommon case of multiple fractures due to secondary osteoporosis caused by Cushing's disease. In this case the appearance of fractures in a 41 years old woman was the sign of alarm that ultimately lead us to the diagnosis.

Prostate carcinoma is one of the most frecuent cancers in men. Significant numbers of patients have regional lymph node and bone metastases during the course of the disease. Mediastinal lymphadenopathy and cutaneous metastases are uncommon and signify well-advanced disease. Ninety patients with untreated, stage I-II A myeloma, were randomised to receive or not monthly infusions of pamidronate (PMD) for 1 year, without additional therapies. Follow-up ranged from 36 to 72 months (median 51 months). Three years after the start of the treatment, the disease had progressed in 25% of PMD treated patients and in 26.8% of controls (p n.s). Median time-to-progression was 16 and 17.4 months, respectively (p n.s). Among the 21 patients who required chemo-radiotherapy, skeletal events (osteolytic lesions, pathological fractures and/or hypercalcemia) developed in 9/11 (81.8%)
