Drug-induced xerostomia significantly affects quality of life. This study evaluated subjective and objective oral dryness in 101 patients with overactive bladder (OAB) receiving solifenacin (5 or 10 mg) or mirabegron (50 mg). Fox and Xerostomia Inventory questionnaires assessed subjective xerostomia, while unstimulated salivary flow measured objective changes. Overall, salivary flow declined from 0.35 to 0.27 ml/min (- 15.1%; p < 0.001), with the greatest reduction in the solifenacin 10 mg group (- 19.3%; p < 0.001). Pituitary adenomas (PA) and pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas (PHEO/PGL) are rare tumors. Although they may co-exist by coincidence, there is mounting evidence that genes predisposing in PHEO/PGL development, may play a role in pituitary tumorigenesis. An evaluation of cognitive functions was presented in 90 patients undergoing thyroid surgery. An attention deterioration, shot-term memory impairment and degradation were revealed after operation. It was shown that reduction of manifestations of cognitive dysfunction and stabilization of the haemodynamics indices were allowed due to application of cytoflavin during operation and in early postoperative period.

The effectiveness of planning polychemotherapy (PCT) for cancer patients depends on the functional state of the liver. The use of remaxol was studied in 100 patients with advanced forms of cancer (including breast cancer) in a preventive mode in comparison with the control group (100 patients, essentiale group of 40 patients) and in the process of PCT. Remaxol, compared with the control group, allowed reducing the frequency of drug hepatotoxicity by 30 +/- 3.7% and by 6.5 +/- 2.9% in comparison with the group of patients who received essentiale.
