Bridging disciplines through Alzheimer care: A faculty-guided summer interprofessional education experience for prelicensure nursing students.

Interprofessional education (IPE) is essential for preparing nursing students to engage in collaborative, team-based care. However, coordinating IPE experiences is challenging for several reasons, including the limited number of health profession programs with summer enrollment. The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at the authors' university operates year-round on a four-semester schedule, making it difficult to ensure consistent IPE opportunities for every cohort, particularly those beginning in summer. To address this gap and advance best practices, the authors prese

The effect of multimodal care based on Peplau's interpersonal relationship theory on postoperative recovery in lung cancer surgery: a retrospective analysis.

BACKGROUND: Lung cancer remains a major global health concern due to its high incidence and mortality rates. With advancements in medical treatments, an increasing number of early-stage lung cancer cases are being detected, making surgical treatment the primary option for such cases. However, this presents challenges to the physical and mental recovery of patients. Peplau known as the "mother of psychiatric associations" has formulated a theory of interpersonal relationships in nursing. Through effective communication between nurses and patients over four periods, she has established a good th

When a Psychiatric Diagnosis Is Actually Perimenopause.

Perimenopause, the hormonal transition preceding menopause, typically begins in the late 30s to mid-40s and lasts an average of seven years. Its neurobiological effects, including disruptions to serotonin synthesis, dopamine signaling, γ-aminobutyric acid receptor activity, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis reactivity, produce a symptom profile nearly identical to primary psychiatric disorders. Women presenting with new or worsening anxiety, depression, insomnia, or cognitive changes during midlife are routinely diagnosed with psychiatric conditions before a hormonal etiology is consider
