BACKGROUND: Ectopic pregnancy in a previous cesarean section scar is rarely reported, and is very difficult to manage. There are only 12 cases to date that have been successfully managed under laparoscopy.

The preoperative diagnosis of primary ovarian pregnancy (POP) remains elusive and the final diagnosis relies heavily on histologic findings. The diagnostic criteria for POP, established in 1878 by Spiegelberg, are based primarily on the identification of an embryonic sac within the ovary and the localization of conception products therein. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities in ectopic pregnancy chorionic villi.
METHODS: A prospective study of patients with the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy was conducted, with chorionic villi obtained at the time of surgical therapy cultured and analyzed for karyotype. INTRODUCTION: This study aimed to determine the predictive value of cancer antigen-125 (CA-125) in combination with serum beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) and progesterone in the early detection of ectopic pregnancy (EP).

Twenty seven patients with unruptured tubal pregnancy were selected for nonsurgical treatment with the use of one injection of 12.5 mg of methotrexate into the ectopic site at laparoscopy. No adverse reactions were observed. In three patients (11%), a laparotomy was performed because of rising beta-human chorionic gonadotropin titers. We report a case of primary choriocarcinoma of the cervix in which the patient died 9 months later. The treatment consisted to administer 5 cycles of chemotherapy pre-operatively and a colpohysterectomy. We have assessed the tumour markers placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP), lactate dehydrogenase (LD), and human chorionic gonadotrophin (beta HCG) using 2,000 serum samples from 286 patients with seminoma.
