Fifteen pregnancies occurring in 13 patients with congenital uterine anomalies were analyzed. The anomalies included bicornuate uteri (nine cases), subseptate uteri (two), septated uteri (one), and uterus didelphys (one). Identification of a bilobed uterine contour with an anterior and/or posterior indentation, an eccentrically located gestational sac, and echogenic endometrial debris in the nongravid horn, reliably indicated a coexistent uterine anomaly. Clinical data of 29 patients with uterine malformation treated at the Fertility Unit, Service and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. G. Grant B. Clinical Hospital, Concepción Chile from January 1978 to May 1990 are presented. Uterine septa (19 cases, 65.5%) were the most common uterine malformation found. CASE: We present the case of a 14-year-old girl with obesity and diabetes mellitus with uterine didelphys and double vagina with a longitudinal vaginal septum. INTRODUCTION: Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich syndrome is a rare complex congenital disorder, presenting with obstructed vagina, uterus didelphys and ipsilateral renal agenesis. Hemivaginal obstruction firstly asymptomatic, leads to symptoms after menarche such as dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain or infertility.
