In New Zealand, the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) is the principal wildlife vector of bovine tuberculosis. Control of infected possum populations contributes to the control of tuberculosis in domestic livestock. Vaccination is potentially a complementary strategy to population control, but to be cost-effective, administration of the vaccine to possums would need to be from an appropriately designed automatic vaccinator. The immunomodulatory action of inosiplex, a drug frequently used in subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE), varies according to its dose and the subjects' immune status. Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) is a lytic mechanism in which a specific antibody acts cooperatively with leukocytic effector cells to induce target cell lysis. Trivalent virus vaccine, containing measles AIK-C strain, mumps Hoshino strain, and rubella Takahashi strain, was administered to a total of 1369 healthy children, 8 months to 18 years of age. Non-specific hyporesponsiveness of cytotoxic T cells to alphaviruses and alloantigens was induced in male mice by multiple, large injections, starting at birth, of gamma-inactivated alphavirus, stock-grown in outbred mouse brains.
