Primary congenital glaucoma usually presents as enlarged and hazy cornea at birth or early childhood. The diagnosis is based on a thorough clinical examination under anesthesia. METHODS: Retrospective review of clinical findings of all patients with Sturge-Weber syndrome who presented between January 1978 and December 2003. BACKGROUND: There has been only one report in the literature of iridogoniodysgenesis associated with cataracts in two brothers. In that report, the authors conclude that the condition was inherited by autosomal recessive transmission.

The etiology, diagnosis, sequelae, and management of ocular hypotony are discussed in this review. Hypotony from decreased production of aqueous is often due to inflammation, medications, or proliferative vitreoretinopathy. Hypotony from aqueous loss may be external, such as following surgery or trauma, or internal, as in cyclodialysis cleft or retinal detachment. Treatment of hypotony is most effective if the underlying cause can be addressed, either surgically or medically. Marked improvement in vision may be achieved if hypotony is reversed.

Ammonia is now frequently used in armed robberies by assailants, who possibly misguidedly imagine that it is an easy and safe method of temporarily incapacitating their victim. Nevertheless, two case histories are presented to illustrate the early rise of intraocular pressure which may occur after excessive exposure of the eye to ammonia. The clinical appearance in many respects mimicked that of acute-angle closure glaucoma; the raised intraocular pressure, corneal oedema, and an oval semi-dilated fixed pupil being typical.
