BACKGROUND: Endocan is an indicator of many pathologies accompanied by inflammation, endothelial cell activation, and dysfunction. AIM: To examine the effect of gastric bypass surgery on cardiometabolic health among women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

24 patients with primary biliary cirrhosis (21 female, 3 male; mean age 51 years) were examined for the occurrence of autoantibodies to gastric parietal cells (APA). APA-titers were correlated with several hematological, chemical and immunological parameters. The results of upper GI-endoscopy were available from 12 patients. BACKGROUNDS/AIMS: Anti-mitochondrial M2 antibody (AMA-M2) is a specific marker for primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and it could be also present in non-PBC individuals.
METHODS: A total of 72,173 Chinese health check-up individuals tested AMA-M2, of which non-PBC AMA-M2 positive individuals were performed follow-up. To determine whether warm-antibody autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) responds to treatment with intravenous gammaglobulin (IVGG), we conducted separate pilot studies at three institutions enrolling a total of 37 patients. We combined these results with a review of 36 cases of AIHA treated with IVGG reported in the literature. Sixteen clinical variables were examined to determine associations with response to IVGG. Plasma exchange has become a widely used therapeutic tool in the treatment of immune-mediated disease.
