Implementation and fidelity assessment of the NAVIGATE treatment program for first episode psychosis in a multi-site study.

The NAVIGATE program was developed for the Recovery After Initial Schizophrenia Episode-Early Treatment Program (RAISE-ETP) study, which compared NAVIGATE to usual Community Care in a cluster randomized design involving 34 sites and 404 patients. This article describes the approach to training and implementing the NAVIGATE program at the 17 sites (including 134 practitioners) randomized to provide it, and to evaluating the fidelity of service delivery to the NAVIGATE model. Fidelity was evaluated to five different components of the program, all of which were standardized in manuals in advance

The Management of Extensor Mechanism Disruption After Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Systematic Review.

We performed a literature search on PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct/Scopus, Google Scholar, and Google to evaluate results of several techniques to manage disruption of the extensor mechanism after total knee arthroplasty. Different methods to manage extensor mechanism disruption are available at present, with no level I studies informing surgeons in an evidence-based fashion. Primary repair is not indicated. Allograft reconstruction could be effective, providing that appropriate surgical technique and allograft tensioning are implemented.

Implementing a multimodal lifestyle intervention for depression and overweight in primary and secondary care: protocol for an implementation study exploring what works, how, and under what conditions.

BACKGROUND: Depression is a common mental health disorder which frequently co-occurs with increased body mass index or increased waist circumference (hereafter 'overweight'), causing heightened cardiovascular risk. Unhealthy lifestyle behaviours underlie both conditions. The Multimodal Lifestyle Intervention (MLI) LEEF integrates physical activity, nutrition, and behavioural strategies, tailored to motivational challenges common in depression, offering a dual focus on mental and physical health. However, unpublished process data revealed very limited referral to MLI‑LEEF from both primary and

Implementing single-dose HPV vaccination in Canada.

The World Health Organization and the National Advisory Committee on Immunization now recommend a single-dose HPV vaccine schedule for most immunocompetent adolescents. As Canadian jurisdictions transition to a single-dose schedule, we apply a social and behavioral science lens and draw on lessons from previous vaccine schedule changes and international experience to identify potential challenges and opportunities associated with this transition. Key implementation considerations include maintaining public confidence through transparent communication about the rationale for the schedule change

Ensuring Quality in the NICU: Translating Research Into Appropriate Clinical Care.

Since the Institute of Medicine's landmark report To Err Is Human, extensive efforts to improve patient safety have been undertaken. However, wide-scale improvement has been limited, sporadic, and inconsistent. Implementation of evidence-based interventions remains a challenge, resulting in unwarranted variations in care. Three main categories of problems in healthcare delivery are defined as overuse, underuse, and misuse of medical services, resulting in inappropriate care, inefficiencies, and poor quality. Although broad acknowledgement that these categories of quality problems exist, there

Facilitators and barriers for implementing infection prevention interventions in long-term care: a scoping review.

INTRODUCTION: Infection prevention and control (IPC) is essential to reduce healthcare-associated infections in long-term care facilities (LTCFs). Its implementation faces unique challenges and is less studied than in acute care. This scoping review mapped barriers and facilitators to IPC implementation in LTCFs. METHODS: Standardized procedures for scoping reviews were followed (eg, PRISMA-ScR). PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL and PsycINFO were searched (2008-2025). Out of 965 articles, 21 studies were included. Data were charted and mapped to the (sub)domains of the Consolidated Framework fo

Bridging the gap: Study protocol for development of an implementation strategy for evidence-informed reablement and rehabilitation for community-dwelling people with dementia.

BACKGROUND: Extensive research supports the use of goal-directed reablement and rehabilitation interventions to address a range of physical, functional, cognitive and behavioural needs of people living with dementia. Despite this, evidence-informed multidisciplinary reablement and rehabilitation interventions are not being offered in usual dementia care across Australia. An examination is needed of how best to implement reablement and rehabilitation interventions within the community-based dementia care sector. METHODS: Drawing on implementation science, this study uses a four-phase mixed-met

Barriers and facilitators to the implementation of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health in health services: a scoping review protocol.

INTRODUCTION: The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) represents a major milestone in understanding functioning and disability and is widely used in clinical practice, management and health research. Despite its relevance, implementation of the ICF remains inconsistent across health services and care settings. Evidence on barriers and facilitators to implementation remains fragmented, limiting the development of effective, context-sensitive implementation strategies. This scoping review aims to map barriers and facilitators influencing ICF implementation in

Thromboprophylaxis in hospitalized trauma patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis of implementation strategies.

INTRODUCTION: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis implementation strategies are well-studied in some hospitalized medical and surgical patients. Although VTE is associated with substantial mortality and morbidity in trauma patients, implementation strategies for the prevention of VTE in trauma appear to be based on limited evidence. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of published literature on active implementation strategies for VTE prophylaxis administration in hospitalized trauma patients and the impact on VTE events. METHODS: A systematic review and meta-an

How do tobacco control policies work in low-income and middle-income countries? A realist synthesis.

BACKGROUND: The burden of tobacco use is disproportionately high in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). There is scarce theorisation on what works with respect to implementation of tobacco control policies in these settings. Given the complex nature of tobacco control policy implementation, diversity in outcomes of widely implemented policies and the defining role of the context, we conducted a realist synthesis to examine tobacco control policy implementation in LMICs. METHODS: We conducted a systematic realist literature review to test an initial programme theory developed by the rese
