The clinical behavior of acute leukemic tumors at each organ site must be recognized if relapse is to be prevented. The courses of 124 cases of leukemic ovarian tumors were analyzed with survival durations obtained from authors. Local expansive growth and invasion of contiguous organs similar to epithelial ovarian cancer was seen in both acute myeloid (AML) and lymphoid (ALL) leukemias. Overall, 56% survived 1 year. We report a case of a 75-year-old male with indolent chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) for 8 years, who presented with a 6-month history of a painful, zosteriform eruption in a T3-4 distribution that evolved into an unusual crop of papular nodules. Upon biopsy and immunostaining of these lesions CLL was proven consistent with leukaemia cutis related to varicella-zoster virus reactivation. In the absence of other treatment indices, he was commenced on chlorambucil with successful resolution of both his pain and the lesions.

Bone marrow necrosis (BMN) is a relatively uncommon clinicopathologic entity. The etiology is diverse, and malignancy, especially hematopoietic in origin, is the most common underlying disease of BMN. In this retrospective analysis, cases with BMN were re-evaluated for etiology, histopathologic details, and clinical manifestations. In the last 8 years, 23 cases of BMN were detected among the 1,083 bone marrow (BM) biopsies, and the prevalence was found to be 2.2%. PURPOSE: To report a case of granulocytic sarcoma involving the eyelids and caruncles after bone marrow transplantation.
METHODS: Case report. A 30-year-old man with acute myeloid leukemia in remission developed multiple friable eyelid and caruncular lesions in addition to two cutaneous lesions on the chest wall and right axilla approximately 3 months after a successful autologous bone marrow transplant.

We analysed the DNA of different tissues of a patient (HS) with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma virus (HTLV-I). We detected viral sequences in fresh specimens from spleen, thymus, liver, skin and peripheral blood neoplastic lymphocytes. The pattern of HTLV-I integration is identical in the leukemic cells and in all other tissues analysed, but the signal intensity is strongest in the leukemic cells, indicating the source of HTLV-I proviral sequences was the leukemic T-cells which had infiltrated these tissues. In fact, the cultured skin fibroblasts of the patient did not contain HTLV-I sequence.

BACKGROUND: Collision tumors involving the co-occurrence of two morphologically and genomically distinct neoplasms in the same anatomical site are exceptionally rare in the central nervous system (CNS).
