Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus.

A case of lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA) involving the oral mucosa is described. The lesion began in the labial mucosa with extension to the gingiva and to the skin. The frequency of occurrence of oral lesions of LSA is discussed, and a histopathologic comparison with skin lesions is made.

Histopathlogic Spectrum of Lichen Striatus.

Out of 67 patients with classical lichen striatus, consisting of discrete linchenoid paules or plaques in a linear fashion, occurring mostly on the extremities and followed up for over 3,1/2 years, the. skin lesions on 49 subjects were biopsied and studied. The different histopathologic changes could be classified into 3 groups. Perivascular dermatitis (51%) was the commonest pattern, followed by perivascular and periappendageal dermatitis (26.5%) and lichenoid dermatitis (22.5%). Three specimens showed m addition, islands of epithelioids cells.

[Anal manifestations of lichen planus].

Lichen planus (LP) is an entity endowed with a striking polimorphysm and with a diversity of topographic localizations. In spite of the diagnostic difficulties that the combination of these factors occasionally produce, the histopathology of the lesion is tipical and diagnostic. Our presentation seems to be justified since, to the best of our knowledge, the anal localization of the disease has not been reported and it is also rare. The finding of these anal manifestation has not been casual. With the certitude that there was no reason why LP could not appear in a semimucosa so much alike that

[Paraneoplastic lichen ruber pemphigoides].

Until now, the designation "Lichen planus vesiculosus" respectively "Lichen planus pemphigoides" comprises a group of apparently very heterogenous "vesicular" variants of Lichen planus. A case is described in which both subepidermal vesicles within Lichen planus-papules and acantholytic suprabasal vesicles in normal skin areas occur simultaneously. The coexistence of "Lichen planus vesiculosus" and a Pemphigus vulgaris-like eruption without pemphigus-autoantibodies is assumed. These symptoms proved to be paraneoplastic phenomena, with an underlying hemangiopericytoma. The pathogenesis of the s

Lichen scrofulosorum with tuberculous dactylitis.

A patient with tuberculosis of cervical lymph nodes, lichen scrofulosorum on the trunk and limbs and tuberculous dactylitis of the hands is reported. Both the clinical and histological features of her lichen scrofulosorum conformed to the characteristic pattern described in other recently reported cases and the association with extra-pulmonary tuberculosis was again evident. There have been no other recent reports of tuberculous dactylitis, which was always said to be due to underlying tuberculous bony involvement. In our patient tuberculous dactylitis, which was clinically indistinguishable f
