Non-Offending Minor-Attracted Persons: Professional Practitioners' Views on the Barriers to Seeking and Receiving Their Help.

Individuals who are attracted to minors but have abstained from sexual offending (non-offending minor-attracted persons) are an under-researched, hard-to-reach population. The current study explored professionals' perspectives of the barriers this population faces in seeking and receiving help and how these barriers can be reduced. Twenty professionals read an original vignette and answered a series of questions via an online survey. Using an inductive thematic analysis, the accessibility of treatment and perceived risk of disclosure emerged as the main barriers to seeking and receiving help.

Before the Waters Rise: Building the Levee for Competency-Based Pharmacy Education.

Pharmacy education stands on unstable ground; overloaded curricula, eroding professional identity, and widening gaps between training and practice signal a system under pressure. Though other health professions are moving toward coordinated, competency-based transformation, pharmacy education risks falling behind. Drawing on recent stakeholder-informed studies and international precedents in medical and veterinary education, this commentary proposes Competency-Based Pharmacy Education (CBPE) not as reform but as essential infrastructure, a levee that must be constructed before pharmacy educati

Conceptualizing and determining laparoscopic competencies in surgical residents: A qualitative study from China.

OBJECTIVE: Given the inadequacy of current evaluation systems for laparoscopic training, this study aims to develop a multidimensional competency framework for surgical residents. The framework is intended to identify key indicators that distinguish excellent performance and better support resident training. METHODS: Based grounded theory and the Iceberg Model, interviews with 15 specialists and 21 residents informed the competency framework. For validation, residents were divided into "excellent" and "average" cohorts, undergoing double-blind competency scoring and comparative analysis. RES
