INTRODUCTION: We present a case of membranous nephropathy associated with a secondary syphilis infection in a patient with HIV.

The toxicity of dichloropropanols (DCPs) was investigated by hematological and blood chemical examination. Four patients are described in whom anicteric hepatitis appeared to be related to the use of nitrofurantoin. All the patients had increased serum transaminase levels, hypergammaglobulinaemia, and liver biopsies suggestive of chronic active hepatitis. We report the case of a 40-year-old female patient admitted at our clinic because of recent onset jaundice and elevated transaminases. Two months before admission the patient had unprotected sexual contact with a potential hepatitis B-infected man. BACKGROUND: Argininemia is an autosomal recessive urea cycle disorder (UCD). Unlike other UCD, hyperammonemia is rarely seen. Patients usually present in childhood with neurological symptoms. To examine long-term outcomes with primary care office-based buprenorphine/naloxone treatment, we followed 53 opioid-dependent patients who had already demonstrated six months of documented clinical stability for 2-5 years.
