OBJECTIVES: To compare efficacy/safety of oral tramadol 75 mg/dexketoprofen 25 mg (TRAM/DKP) and TRAM 75 mg/paracetamol 650 mg (TRAM/paracetamol) in moderate to severe pain following surgical removal of impacted lower third molar.
DESIGN: Multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase IIIb study.
PARTICIPANTS: Healthy adult patients scheduled for surgical extraction of at least one fully/partially impacted lower third molar requiring bone manipulation. 654 patients were randomised and 653 were eligible for analysis.

PURPOSE: To report a case of cystoid macular edema (CME) in iridocorneal endothelial syndrome.
METHODS: Case report.
RESULTS: The authors describe the clinical history and ocular examination of a 38-year-old woman with iridocorneal endothelial syndrome and CME. This association has never been reported before. The mechanism of CME is unknown.
CONCLUSION: CME may cause visual deterioration in iridocorneal endothelial syndrome. We emphasize the importance of posterior segment examination in these cases.

The combined effects of the uterine infusion of EDTA-Tris solution and antibiotics have been evaluated in 75 cases of slight, moderate or severe bovine endometritis which did not respond to local routine antimicrobial therapy. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria were isolated from uterine swabs. The cows were divided into three groups on the basis of the severity of endometritis and treated with 100 ml of sterile EDTA-Tris solution (250 mM EDTA and 50 mM tris, pH 8) and the same antibiotic used in the first unsuccessful treatment (oxytetracycline, enrofloxacin, lincomycin-spectinomycin or amikacin).
