We present a 42-year-old circumcised man with a 10-cm firm, irregular penile mass associated with multiple penile ulcers, voiding difficulty, and erectile dysfunction. He reluctantly admitted that 8 months previously, he had multiple mineral-oil (vaseline) self-injections to the penis, for penile enlargement purposes. Histopathological examination revealed the condition was consistent with mineral-oil granuloma (paraffinoma). The present study aimed at assessing sexuality after hysterectomy using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). A telephone survey was conducted among women 1 year after a hysterectomy for benign cause. The FSFI and a general questionnaire containing personal and partner sociodemographic data were applied. BACKGROUND: Operative procedures for primary rectal cancer from Japan combine pelvic nerve-preserving techniques with radical tumour resection to ensure optimal local tumour control with minimal bladder and sexual dysfunction. Serum gonadal hormones, gonadotrophins and zinc levels were studied in thirteen men aged 29-62 yr with chronic renal failure undergoing haemodialysis. All patients had decreased libido and impotence. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Testosterone deficiency (TD) affects 18-38% of men undergoing radical prostatectomy (RP) for localised prostate cancer and may impair postoperative sexual rehabilitation. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) may improve sexual function and is assumed to be oncologically safe following RP, though evidence is based on nonrandomised, retrospective studies.
