Mood Temperaments in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Temperamental traits are stable, biologically based personality characteristics that shape an individual's emotional and behavioral responses. While certain traits, in their extreme expressions, may predispose individuals to mood disorders and diabetes-related distress, others may confer resilience and protective benefits. Evaluating the prevalence and patterns of these traits in diabetic patients is therefore essential for a holistic understanding of their psychological profile. This study aimed to assess and compare temperamental characteristics between diabetic patients

Effects of embedded acceptance and commitment training in veterinary medical and technology programs as students transition into the workforce: A study protocol.

Psychological distress is elevated in the field of veterinary medicine. Recent evidence demonstrates that stress and burnout in veterinary workers can be reduced through an Acceptance and Commitment Training intervention targeting "burden transfer," or reactivity to challenging interactions with veterinary clients ("Unburdened"). Exposing students to Unburdened could optimize mental health outcomes as they transition into the veterinary workforce. Unburdened will be adapted for student use in a self-guided digital format and embedded into 5 veterinary medical or technology programs. Participan

Telemedicine-Supported Exercise Interventions in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: A Scoping Review.

BackgroundHematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a potentially curative therapy for various hematologic conditions. Though physical exercise has been shown to positively affect physical and psychosocial function in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, they often face multiple barriers to accessing comprehensive exercise-based rehabilitation programs. Telemedicine has emerged as a promising strategy to overcome these challenges by facilitating remote exercise interventions and potentially improving patient outcomes.ObjectiveThis scoping review aimed to map the curren

Evidence-Based Perioperative Prevention of Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV) in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery: A Scoping Review.

Background and Objective: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) ranks among the most common postoperative complications, affecting up to 80% of patients undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery. This condition negatively impacts patient comfort and well-being while also potentially delaying ambulation and increasing the risk of anastomotic and wound dehiscence. Although various interventions can mitigate the risk of PONV, none are entirely effective; therefore, combined prophylactic strategies are the standard approach. In recent years, numerous techniques and interventions have emerged; c

Management and Outcomes of Non-Missile Penetrating Brain Injury Involving the Anterior Skull Base: A Case Report and Systematic Review.

Introduction: Non-missile penetrating brain injury (PBI) involving the anterior skull base constitutes a rare subclass of traumatic brain injury in civilians. Management of this type of trauma is poorly described in the literature, with only case series and reports available. Materials and Methods: A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. The study included reports of adult patients with non-missile PBI with foreign bodies crossing the anterior skull base, published between the years 2000 and 2024. The patients were divided into three groups based

School-Based Prevention Programmes for Sexual Abuse: A Meta-Analysis Study.

Child sexual abuse (CSA) remains a significant public health concern with lasting impacts on victims' mental, emotional, and social well-being. In recent decades, school-based prevention programs have been implemented globally to increase children's knowledge, attitudes, and protective behaviors. Although previous meta-analyses have reported overall program effectiveness, there is limited synthesis regarding the influence of variables such as session count and intervention style. This study aims to provide an updated meta-analysis focused on the effectiveness of school-based CSA prevention pro

How non-specific low back pain affects gait kinematics: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Non-specific low back pain (NS-LBP) is a is a highly prevalent musculoskeletal condition, with an estimated 619 million prevalent cases worldwide in 2020. Alterations in spinal and lower limb dynamics are considered as potential factors directly involved in this condition, thus we carried out a systematic review to summarize the evidence regarding walking kinematics in NS-LBP. METHODS: The reporting of this review followed the "2020 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis" (PRISMA 2020 checklist) and the protocol was preliminary registered in PROSPERO (I
