Logistic regression models examined associations, controlling for sociodemographic factors. Sexual risk behaviors included STI symptoms, multiple sexual partners and non-condom use. Findings revealed 26.6% reported sexual risk behaviors. Signi

Primary and Secondary Prophylaxis for Diseases Caused by Human Papillomavirus Infections.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide and a leading cause of several cancers, including cervical, anal, oropharyngeal, vulvar, vaginal, and penile cancers, as well as benign conditions such as genital warts. The global burden of HPV is particularly high in low- and middle-income countries due to disparities in vaccine accessibility, screening, and awareness. This review synthesizes recent advances in the primary and secondary prophylaxis of HPV-related diseases. Primary prophylaxis encompasses vaccination, education, and behavioral interventions

Condylomata acuminata in the neovagina and vulva with HPV6/18 infection in a patient with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome after sheares' vaginoplasty: a case report and systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome patients who undergo vaginoplasty are at risk of developing HPV-related lesions throughout their life, from low risk condylomata acuminata (CA) to cancerous lesions. However, the HPV status of neovaginal lesion in this patient group were often undocumented. We reported a case of CA, with HPV type 6 and 18 positive, affecting both the neovagina and vulva in a MRKH patient who underwent vaginoplasty (12 months ago). Additionally, we explore the relationship between HPV infection and neovaginal lesions through a review of current literatu

Cross-sectional weighted stepwise multivariate logistic regression models were conducted to determine the odds of lifetime HIV and STI testing among students, stratified by sex. Drugs and alcohol before sex, condom use during sex, number of sex partners, sex of sexual partners, substance use (e-cigarette, alcohol, and cannabis) frequency, lifetime cocain

Relations Between Adolescent Sensation Seeking and Risky Sexual Behaviors Across Sex, Race, and Age: A Meta-Analysis.

Sensation seeking (SS)-the seeking of novel and intense sensations or experiences and the willingness to take risks for the sake of such experiences-has been shown to be related to various risky sexual behaviors (RSBs) in areas such as multiple sexual partners, condom use, and sexual initiation. The aims of the current meta-analysis were to examine (1) how SS relates to specific RSBs in adolescents and (2) how the overall relationship between SS and RSB differs across sex, race, and age. Overall, a total of 40 studies met the inclusion criteria for our meta-analysis examining the relationship

Balancing non-discriminatory donor selection and blood safety in the Netherlands: Evaluation of an individual risk assessment of sexual behavior.

BACKGROUND: To better balance the safety of the blood supply and the inclusion of men who have sex with men (MSM), further improvements are needed to the risk management strategy employed in the Netherlands to reduce transfusion-transmissible infections (TTIs). A gender-neutral individual risk assessment could provide a solution by determining donor eligibility based on sexual behaviors known to increase the risk of TTIs. Our objective is to estimate the proportion of blood donors that would be deferred by such an assessment, as well as their discomfort answering such questions. STUDY DESIGN

BACKGROUND: Sexually transmitted infections are a major public health issue worldwide. HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use among youth may be associated with increased incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). OBJECTIVES: To measure the prevalence and incidence of STIs among young men who have sex with men (YMSM) and young transgender women (YTGW) using PrEP. METHODS: A prospective cohort of 15- to 19-year-old YMSM and YTGW with HIV risk defined as inconsistent condom use and/or multiple sex partners were enrolled. Violence, HIV Risks, and Polysubstance Use Among HIV-Positive People Who Inject Drugs in Ukraine.

Violence experience has been consistently associated with HIV risks and substance use behaviors. Although many studies have focused on intimate partner violence (IPV), the role of violence at a structural level (i.e., police abuse) remains relevant for people who inject drugs. This study evaluated the association of IPV and police-perpetrated violence experiences with HIV risk behaviors and substance use in a cohort of HIV-positive people who inject drugs in Ukraine. We also evaluated possible moderation effects of gender and socioeconomic status in the links between violence exposure and HIV
