SCTD-ICA: A ICA-Based Approach for Fetal ECG Extraction From Single Channel Abdominal ECG.

The fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) signal provides valuable insights into the fetal cardiac status during pregnancy. As the maternal abdominal ECG (AECG) signal is influenced by various sources, including the maternal ECG (MECG) signal, it becomes challenging to separate the FECG signal from the AECG effectively. In this paper, we introduce a pipeline centered on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) for the extraction of FECG from a single-channel abdominal recording, termed "Single Channel Time Delay ICA (SCTD-ICA)". A notable limitation of ICA is its requirement for multi-channel data. To ov

SegTom: A 3D Volumetric Medical Image Segmentation Framework for Thoracoabdominal Multi-Organ Anatomical Structures.

Accurate segmentation of thoracoabdominal anatomical structures in three-dimensional medical imaging modalities is fundamental for informed clinical decision-making across a wide array of medical disciplines. Current approaches often struggle to efficiently and comprehensively process this region's intricate and heterogeneous anatomical information, leading to suboptimal outcomes in diagnosis, treatment planning, and disease management. To address this challenge, we introduce SegTom, a novel volumetric segmentation framework equipped with a cutting-edge SegTom Block specifically engineered to

Movement Anywhere: An Open-Source Distributed 2D Video-Based Movement Analysis Platform Empowered by Active Learning.

Movement analysis plays a pivotal role in diagnosing and monitoring neurodegenerative and musculoskeletal diseases. Traditional tools, such as 3D motion capture systems and electronic walkways, though effective, are costly and spatially demanding, limiting their accessibility. To address these challenges, we introduce Movement Anywhere, an open-source, distributed plat form for 2D video-based movement analysis. This plat form features advanced tracking algorithms that robustly handle scenarios where patients require assistance, and it rigorously establishes the conditions necessary for precise

Towards Accurate and Lightweight Peripheral Neuroblastic Tumor Diagnosis via Contrastive Multi-scale Pathological Image Analysis.

Peripheral neuroblastic tumors (pNTs) are among the most common extracranial solid tumors in children, and accurate pathological subtyping is important for risk stratification and treatment planning. However, pNT subtyping on hematoxylin-eosin whole-slide images (WSIs) remains challenging because of limited pediatric tumor cohorts, marked histological heterogeneity, inter observer variability, and the computational burden of existing WSI classifiers. To address these challenges, we propose CoPath, a framework consisting of CoHisNet and PathVote. CoHisNet is a lightweight multi-scale feature fu

Dirichlet Process-Guided Dynamic Filtering for Mitosis Detection with Single Point Supervision.

Accurate detection of mitotic figures in breast histopathology images is central to tumor grading and prognostic assessment. Precise bounding-box annotation remains labor-intensive and variable because mitotic figures are small, morphologically diverse, and boundary-ambiguous. Point-level supervision reduces annotation cost but lacks scale information, making reliable pseudo-box generation essential. Existing point-supervised pipelines often use static or heuristic thresholds that may become unstable as teacher predictions and proposal-score distributions evolve. We propose DDFMitos-Net, a poi

MDRSGAN : Multi-Scale Deep Residual Shrinkage Generative Adversarial Network for Medical Image Enhancement.

High quality medical images are the foundation of clinical diagnosis and treatment, but their quality may decrease due to imaging noise, artifacts, and uneven lighting. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel Multi-scale Deep Residual Shrinkage Generative Adversarial Network (MDRSGAN) for non paired medical image enhancement. Its core innovations include: (1) Adopting a customized generator with learnable channel shared soft threshold (DRSN-CS), which can achieve hierarchical feature extraction and adaptive noise suppression; (2) Combining dual core discriminator to ensure global st

Systematic Review on Deep Learning Algorithms for Blood Glucose Forecasting in Type 1 Diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose (BG) concentrations, resulting from the immune-mediated destruction of insulin-producing $\beta$-cells in the pancreas. Effective management of T1D greatly benefits from constant monitoring of BG levels, achievable in real-time using minimally invasive continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices. These devices provide data streams that can be leveraged by forecasting algorithms to predict BG levels minutes in advance, enabling timely therapeutic interventions to prevent adverse events, such as hypo/hyp

Development and validation of a machine learning model for identifying liver fibrosis in MAFLD: a retrospective model development study.

BACKGROUND: Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), as the most prevalent chronic liver disease globally, is closely related to the prevalence of metabolic syndrome. Liver fibrosis is a core stage in the progression of this disease, significantly increasing the risk of liver cirrhosis, liver failure, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Early identification of high-risk patients is crucial for blocking disease progression. We developed and internally validated a machine learning model to identify MAFLD patients with VCTE-defined liver fibrosis using routinely collected clinical

4DfCF: 4D fMRI CrossFormer Vision Transformer.

Investigating the spatiotemporal dynamics of the human brain is a complex challenge due to the intricate nature of brain networks, and the limitations of current analytical methods. Herein, we introduce the 4D functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) CrossFormer (4DfCF), a novel vision transformer architecture designed to process high-dimensional 4D fMRI data. This model integrates temporal and spatial dimensions to effectively learn and predict cognitive and clinical outcomes. We further evaluated the 4DfCF on three benchmark datasets: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder-200 (ADHD-20

DHPCL: Diffusion-Driven Hard-Soft Prototype Contrastive Learning for Semi-Supervised Medical Image Segmentation.

Semi-supervised learning (SSL) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for medical image segmentation, effectively mitigating the reliance on large-scale pixel-level annotations. However, existing SSL approaches frequently suffer from a vicious cycle of insufficient pseudo-label quality and degraded feature discriminability, where noisy predictions induce poor feature representations and vice versa. To address this problem, we propose a novel framework, Diffusion-Driven Hard-Soft Prototype Contrastive Learning (DHPCL) for semi-supervised medical image segmentation. First, we design a Discriminator-

An Efficient FoG-M3 Method for Self-Adaptive Labeling and Predicting Freezing of Gait.

Freezing of gait (FoG) is a common motor impairment that occurs as Parkinson's disease patients enter the moderate stage or higher, leading to a high risk of falls. Although previous methods have accurately identified FoG, significant challenges remain in predicting it. These challenges include difficulties in labeling Pre-FoG due to its personalization, sudden onset, and variability; the imbalance between the amount of FoG and normal gait data; and inadequate feature representation by the model. To address these challenges, we introduce a deep learning-based method for FoG prediction, named F

A Comprehensive Framework for the Prediction of Intra-Operative Hypotension.

In this paper, the problem of triggering early warning for intra-operative hypotension (IOH) is addressed. Recent studies on the Hypotension Prediction Index have demonstrated a gap between the results presented during model development and clinical evaluation. Thus, there is a need for better collaboration between data scientists and clinicians who need to agree on a common basis to evaluate those models. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive framework for IOH prediction: to address several issues inherent to the commonly used fixed-time-to-onset approach in the literature, a sliding wind

Aging and Postural Changes Influence the Agreement Between Pulse Rate Variability and Heart Rate Variability.

OBJECTIVE: Pulse rate variability (PRV) derived from photoplethysmography is often used as a surrogate for heart rate variability (HRV) in daily monitoring. However, their interchangeability in older adults and under postural change remains uncertain, potentially leading to misinterpretation in practical usage. Moreover, the mechanisms underlying HRV-PRV differences are incompletely understood. APPROACH: We evaluated HRV-PRV interchangeability across 18 features during four kinds of orthostatic tests in 35 younger and 42 older adults. Bland-Altman analysis assessed the interchangeability in d

Interpretable Features for the Assessment of Neurodegenerative Diseases Through Handwriting Analysis.

Motor dysfunction is a common sign of neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) such as Parkinson's disease (PD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), but may be difficult to detect, especially in the early stages. In this work, we examine the behavior of a wide array of interpretable features extracted from the handwriting signals of 113 subjects performing multiple tasks on a digital tablet, as part of the Neurological Signals dataset. The aim is to measure their effectiveness in characterizing NDs, including AD and PD. To this end, task-agnostic and task-specific features are extracted from 14 distinct task

Artifact Suppression in OPM-MEG for Parkinson's Disease Patients With DBS Implants Using Oblique Projection-Based Extended Homogeneous Field Correction.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a critical neuromodulation technique that has been widely applied in the treatment of neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease (PD) and epilepsy. As an important functional neuroimaging modality, magnetoencephalography (MEG) has played a key role in DBS research. In particular, the next-generation MEG based on optically pumped magnetometers (OPM-MEG), offers greater potential for clinical applications. However, the strong electromagnetic interference generated by DBS systems makes data acquisition and analysis challenging in OPM-MEG recordings from pat

Interpretable machine learning based decision-making system for lung adenocarcinoma metastasis: a population-based study with exploration of multi-classification models.

BACKGROUND: Accurate metastasis prediction in lung adenocarcinoma is essential for effective treatment plans and improved prognosis. Current methods face challenges in accuracy and clinical application. METHODS: We developed a binary classification model (XGBoost) and a multiclassification model (stacking) using SEER database data. The binary model predicts metastasis presence (M0 vs. non-M0), and the multiclassification model further refines the degree of metastasis (M1a, M1b, M1c). Model performance was assessed using ROC AUC, PR AUC, and KS curves. SHAP values were used to analyze important

Dynamically Enhanced Multi-organ Segmentation Base on Boundary-Aware Partial Label.

Accurate multi-organ segmentation of abdominal CT is essential for many clinical applications, yet it often relies on large, fully annotated datasets. However, most available datasets are partially labeled, collected from different medical centers. To address this, we propose BAPLDE-MOSNet, a boundary-aware multi-organ segmentation network that leverages task-guided attention and dynamic feature enhancement modules to handle partially labeled data. BAPLDE-MOSNet integrates an edge prediction auxiliary regression network into the basic segmentation architecture in a multi-task learning manner.

A Novel Approach to Distinguish Parkinson's Disease Patients From Healthy Control Subjects Using Speech-Based Task Analysis.

Patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) often exhibit speech and voice impairments early in the disease course, making these characteristics potential biomarkers for diagnosis. Additionally, PD speech analysis offers a promising avenue for monitoring disease progression in response to therapeutic interventions. In this study, we propose a novel method for distinguishing PD patients from healthy controls (HCs) through the analysis of speech task recordings. Our method integrates recurrence plots (RPs) and their corresponding quantitative descriptors with established speech features, namely Mel-s

Towards Balanced Bias-Variance With SincDualFormer: A Dual-Scale Sinc-Filterbank Transformer Model With SR-BandMix Augmentation for Motor Imagery BCI.

Motor imagery electroencephalography (MI-EEG) decoding remains challenging because of its low signal-to-noise ratio, substantial inter-subject variability, and limited training data. This study proposes SincDualFormer, a dual-rhythm architecture that combines physiologically constrained Sinc filtering and unconstrained temporal convolution within parallel mu and beta-aligned branches. The two complementary representations are independently recalibrated by BandSE and projected through depthwise spatial convolutions before pointwise fusion. A multi-scale Inception-TCN and a lightweight Transform
