INTRODUCTION: We are reporting a case of spontaneous conception and viable birth in a woman diagnosed with stage III pelvic endometriosis and bilateral tubal blockade.
CASE: A 30-year-old woman was investigated for primary infertility and was diagnosed with stage III pelvic endometriosis, extensive distortion of pelvic anatomy and bilateral tubal damage on diagnostic laparoscopy and chromotubation. Patient was advised in vitro fertilization; however, she chose otherwise and conceived spontaneously, delivering a healthy baby by cesarean section at term.

Transvaginal hydrolaparoscopy (THL) has become a first-line procedure in infertile women, and THL by flexible fiberscope (THLF) is a less traumatic and a more suitable outpatient procedure than diagnostic laparoscopy. BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to define treatment modalities in tubo-ovarian abscesses (TOA) using a scoring system. As there is no scoring system for TAO there is still a controversy on the management. In our opinion, as there is no evidence based TAO management strategy, a scoring system is needed in the management of these patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of progesterone receptor (PR) in the utero-tubal junction (UTJ) of sows at 24 h after intra-uterine insemination (IUI) and deep intra-uterine insemination (DIUI) compared with conventional artificial insemination (AI) in pigs. PURPOSE: We present the outcomes of one of the largest series specifically of laparoscopic hysterosalpingectomy with bilateral gonadectomy in 46,XX patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia raised as a male.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: From June 2005 to March 2008, five patients raised as male were treated at our institution using laparoscopic surgery. 46,XX disorder of sex development was diagnosed in all the patients because of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Hysterosalpingectomy with bilateral gonadectomy was performed completely laparoscopically in all five patients.

Transvaginal sonography (TVS) is now the imaging modality of choice for the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy with overall reported sensitivities of>90%. Specific sonographic criteria exist for the diagnosis of tubal and non-tubal pregnancies including cervical and caesarean section scar pregnancies. Diagnosis is based on the visualization of an ectopic mass rather than the inability to visualize an intra-uterine pregnancy. This chapter discusses the specific criteria used for the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy and examines the literature assessing the accuracy of ultrasound as a diagnostic tool.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the rate of ectopic pregnancy (EP) with fresh versus frozen blastocyst transfer in our program during the same time period.
DESIGN: Retrospective analysis.
SETTING: University IVF program.
PATIENT(S): Women who achieved a clinical pregnancy after IVF between 1998 and 2005.
INTERVENTION(S): In our program, cryopreservation is performed at the blastocyst stage. Embryo transfer was performed 1 to 1.5 cm short of the fundus by abdominal ultrasound guidance.
