Person-to-Person Transmission of Andes Virus (ANDV): A Systematic Review of Transmission Dynamics, Viral Shedding, and Public Health Implications.

Andes virus (ANDV) is the only hantavirus with well-documented evidence of person-to-person transmission. However, key parameters related to transmission timing, viral shedding, exposure contexts, and public health management remain incompletely defined. We conducted a systematic review in accordance with PRISMA 2020. MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched from database inception up to 14 May 2026. Eligible studies reported epidemiological, virological, clinical, or public health data relevant to ANDV infection, person-to-person transmission, viral shedding, and/or outbreak c

Modern teaching for clinical education involving manual therapy: a 6-pillar approach.

BACKGROUND: Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions remain a leading source of global disability, and manual therapy (MT) features in multimodal guideline concordant care; however, teaching in clinical programs that involve MT often remains technique-centric and insufficiently aligned with contemporary, person-centred teaching and practice. The present paper synthesizes literature and recent professional discourse to advance an educational framework that operationalizes modern clinical teaching across professions. OBJECTIVE: To present a review-informed, consensus-driven, student centred framework f

Pooled prevalence, risk factors and barriers to care for hepatitis C virus (HCV) in adults with serious mental illness (SMI): an updated systematic review and meta-analysis - protocol.

INTRODUCTION: The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a significant healthcare burden across the globe and is a major cause of liver malignancies. However, patients with serious mental illness (SMI) living with HCV are disproportionately affected and underserved within the current care framework. A previous meta-analysis on this topic yielded a prevalence of 8%, which is considerably higher than that observed in the broader population. Since the original review was published in early 2022, an update is required to incorporate data published during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and to evaluate its eff

Quantitative meta-analytic framework for aedes habitat heterogeneity.

Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are invasive mosquitoes and the primary vectors of dengue, Zika, yellow fever, and chikungunya. Their ecological traits, particularly larval habitats and adult resting sites, are critical for designing effective strategies to reduce mosquito abundance and disease transmission. A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines to identify studies published between January 1998 and December 2024 in PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Web of Science. We implemented a random-effects model to estimate the relative abundance of adult female Ae. aegypti

Quantifying the risk of tuberculosis recurrence in Asia: A systematic review of hazard estimates.

INTRODUCTION: Recurrence of tuberculosis (TB) is a major challenge to its control in Asia, even though there is a high treatment success rate of drug-susceptible diseases. TB recurrence contributes to ongoing disease transmission in the community, increases drug resistance and leads to higher TB mortality rates. The study aimed to examine and synthesise the current evidence on determinants of TB recurrence occurring after completed treatment in the Asian setting. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The PRISMA 2020 framework is used as a guide for this systematic review. A systematic search in PubMed/MEDLI

[Expert Consensus on Immunotherapy for Extensive-stage Small Cell Lung Cancer
Based on Molecular Subtyping].

Immune checkpoint inhibitors combined with Platinum-based Etopositde chemotherapy have become the first-line standard treatment for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). However, treatment benefit varies substantially among patients, and the proportion of long-term survivors remains limited. In recent years, the molecular classification framework comprising SCLC-A, SCLC-N, SCLC-P and SCLC-I, based on the expression patterns of ASCL1, NEUROD1 and POU2F3 as well as immune-inflammatory status, has provided a new basis for understanding the heterogeneity of immunotherapy response and f

SAHELI:  Study and Action on Hysterectomy: Evidence on women's health through the life course in India.  Protocol for a mixed-methods study.

UNLABELLED: Hysterectomy, removal of the uterus, is a commonly performed surgery for gynaecological morbidities. Emerging evidence indicates that hysterectomy performed before age 45 (early hysterectomy), is associated with considerable risks to women's health. While most evidence on hysterectomy is from high-income settings, national surveys from India report high prevalence of early hysterectomy in specific regions, as well as higher prevalence amongst women in rural areas and with less education. The median age at hysterectomy in India is close to ten years before the onset of natural menop
