A previously healthy 16-year-old male presented with a two day history of persistent epigastric pain. His physical examination was significant for tenderness in the left hypochondriac region with a palpable spleen 2cm below the left sub-costal margin. A CT scan of the abdomen showed a splenic infarct. Heterophile and EBV VCA IgM antibody test were positive. This is a rare case of infectious mononucleosis presenting with splenic infarct in an adolescent male without co-morbidities.

Long-term venous access catheters are very useful for administration of chemotherapy and other drug infusions in patients with haematological malignancies. But their use in government hospitals is still restricted. This study aimed to audit the surgical and infective complications of the vascular access devices which we have used for last three years in patients of haematological malignancies. Dyke-Davidoff-Masson syndrome refers to atrophy of one cerebral hemisphere (hemiatrophy) due to an insult to the brain in fetal or early childhood period. This is an uncommon condition. We present a case of a nine month- old female presented with seizure and weakness of the right upper and lower extremities and subsequently computed tomography was performed and showed hemiatrophy of the left fronto-parietal lobe with degenerative changes in the left cerebral peduncle.

Paratesticularleiomyosarcomas are rare neoplasms. Radical orchidectomy and high ligation of cord followed by surveillance is the treatment of choice. Here we report a 73-year-old man who presented with a 2-year history of painless lump in the left hemiscrotum. A left radical orchiectomy with high ligation of the spermatic cord was performed. The histo-pathological and immunohistochemistry evaluation revealed a moderately differentiated leiomyosarcoma of paratesticular region. The patient is still alive with no evidence of local recurrence and distant metastasis after seven years of follow-up.

Anomalous origin of coronary arteries is a rare type of congenital anomalies with a low incidence. It is considered an incidental finding without clinical significance, however, these abnormalities may be responsible for angina pectoris, heart failure, arrhythmias and increased risk of sudden death. In this paper, six cases that were diagnosed with anomalous origin of coronary arteries confirmed by coronary angiography has been described and also briefly reviewed the literature concerning current views and therapy of this abnormality.

This case highlights the importance of careful evaluation of girls presenting with imperforate hymen as this is accompanied by other female reproductive tract anomalies. It is of utmost importance that a correct timely diagnosis is made so that the right treatment can be chosen with the perspective of future fertility. Cervical dysgenesis associated with vaginal septum and imperforate hymen has not been reported in literature so far. Present case highlights the simple mode of management with a successful outcome.

The trigger thumb is an uncommon condition in infants and children which occurs due to pathology of flexor pollicis longus or A1 pulley. The objectives in our study were to determine the treatment outcome of trigger thumb. The study included total of 45 patients (24 males and 21 females) with trigger thumb. The mean age of onset was 28.5 months (3 months -7 years).
