CONTEXT: Amiodarone-induced thyrotoxicosis (AIT) resulting from destructive thyroiditis (type 2) is commonly treated with glucocorticoids, but time needed to restore euthyroidism may be unacceptable for patients with underlying cardiac disorders.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this prospective study was to identify factors affecting the response to glucocorticoids in a large cohort of patients with type 2 AIT followed prospectively.

Selection of an orbital imaging technique requires a thorough understanding of pertinent anatomy applied to relevant clinical history and detailed ophthalmic examination. The clinical finding should direct the clinician to the imaging study that provides maximum information and narrows diagnostic considerations for the individual patient. BACKGROUND: Chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI) is an uncommon condition encountered by clinicians. Presentation may vary from asymptomatic to classical intestinal ischemia, although a clear pathophysiology has yet to be elucidated.
