OBJECTIVES: To investigate the intracorneal, aqueous, and vitreous penetration of ofloxacin, and to assess the concentration of the drug after topical administration alone and after combined topical and oral administration.

Exposure to ultraviolet radiation is known to cause many adverse side effects by inducing the tissue to produce reactive oxygen species. By inhibiting these mediators, administration ofantioxidants might be the strategy to reduce UVA-induced skin reaction such as tissue damage and inflammation. However the present study showed that administration of topical 10% vitamin C derivative (VC-PMG) and topical 5% vitamin E has no effect in terms ofprevention or treatment of UVA suntan skin in 20 volunteers. Lowering of the intraocular pressure--the main risk factor in glaucoma neuropathy--is the major goal in the treatment for primary open angle glaucoma. The goal of the study is to compare the results of topical administration of the next therapeutical agents: b-blockers, prostaglandin analogs, topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and selectives adrenergic a-2 agonists. The studied groups emphasize the efficiency of the first line monotherapy and of the combined therapy, maintaining the quality of life, preserving the visual function, the minimal side effects and the compliance of the patients.

We report three cases of severe hypertrichosis in healthy infants, who did not present any type of endocrinological pathology and whose parents used topical minoxidil for the treatment of their baldness. Any type of direct application or administration of the product was ruled out. Hypertrichosis is considered to have occurred through skin-to-skin contact with the parent, and even through fomites. Given the widespread use of topical minoxidil, it is likely that this etiology of childhood hypertrichosis is underdiagnosed and that it sometimes leads to minimal forms that go unnoticed.

Dorzolamide is the first commercial topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitor approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of glaucoma. BACKGROUND AND AIM: Surgical and endovascular revascularization procedures along with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and topical oxygen therapy (TOT) for chronic oxygen-deprived wounds are standard care treatment protocols for diabetic foot ulcer (DFU).
