Therefore, before other results are available, screening for the carrier state in all pregnant women does not appear justified except in risk groups. These results are limited to the city of Alicante, where most women attend the Hospital at the final stage of their pregnancies.

Prevention of perinatal hepatitis B includes: (1) screening of pregnant women for hepatitis B surface antigen, and (2) immunoprophylaxis of babies at risk. Semiconductor nanostructures produced by wet chemical synthesis are extremely heterogeneous, which makes single particle techniques a useful way to interrogate their properties.
