The purpose of this retrospective study was to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes of patients treated with different adjuvant methods after curettage for enchondromas of the hand. An enchondroma with complex cystic changes of the proximal femur is described in a 13-year-old male. Cartilaginous metaplasia in lipomas (chondrolipoma) is rare and mainly encountered in large-sized, long-standing lipomas. Chondrolipomas can be found at almost any site of the body, particularly in the connecting tissue of the skeletal system, breast, pharynx, and nasopharynx. We report on an intermuscular tumor of the thigh in a patient who suffered from lipomatosis in his past medical history. We describe how the diagnosis of chondrolipoma was reached and discuss the differential diagnoses.

Primary synovial chondromatosis (PSC) is thought to be a cartilaginous metaplasia, but it may recur locally and malignant change has been reported. A technique of improved free vascularized fibula grafting for bone defects up to 15 cm in length is presented with three illustrative cases. By dividing a harvested free fibula graft at its midpoint without dividing its vascular pedicle, two vascularized bone lengths are produced that require only one set of anastomoses. This folded fibula provides twice the cross-sectional area of a single fibula transfer and allows biomechanically improved graft placement. This technique has been successfully used in long bone defects of the upper and lower limbs.

Tumors that are strictly intracavernous remain rare and their management is a subject of controversy. The authors describe the direct surgical approach to these lesions and consider this approach necessary to determine the exact nature of the intracavernous process. OBJECTIVE: Spontaneous recovery of a sixth nerve palsy is thought to rule out a neoplastic origin. We reviewed cases of sixth nerve palsy that improved without treatment but that ultimately proved to be caused by a tumor at the base of the skull.
DESIGN: Case series.
SETTING: Hospital-based, neuro-ophthalmology referral practice.
PATIENTS: Seven patients with an age range from 7 to 61 years had sixth nerve palsy secondary to a slow-growing neoplasm at the skull base.

We report the results of arthroscopic removal of loose bodies and abnormal synovium from 18 knees with primary synovial chondromatosis. After a mean of three years, six months (range one to 10 years), 14 knees were either symptom-free or had only minor symptoms. Three of these had required two arthroscopic operations.
