A novel strain of the genus Sinomonas, designated G460-2 T, was isolated from rice paddy soil. The cells of strain G460-2 T were Gram-positive, aerobic, and non-motile rods. The optimal growth conditions for this strain were observed at 30 °C and a pH of 7.0. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing revealed that strain G460-2 T shared the highest sequence similarity (98.41%) with Sinomonas albida LC13T.
