PURPOSE: Pseudohypoxia type (PHT) pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) are more likely to metastasize and have a poor prognosis. However, application of genetic tests has many restrictions. The study aims to establish a novel nomogram for predicting the risk of PHT PPGLs.

BACKGROUND: Adrenal myelolipoma is a rare benign tumor composed of adipose tissue and hematopoetic elements resembling bone marrow. The majority of myelolipoma do not produce adrenal hormones and are only found as a result of evaluation for another disorder. With the widespread use of non-invasive abdominal imaging for various reason, its incidental detection has become more common. This study investigated cortisol inactivation by 11beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (11beta HSD) enzymes in porcine granulosa cells from antral follicles at different developmental stages and in ovarian cysts.
