BACKGROUND: Early case reports suggest more frequent and rapid recurrences of carcinoma of the gallbladder after laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) than after open cholecystectomy. This cancer has a poor prognosis and occurs in 1 percent of patients who undergo cholecystectomies.
STUDY DESIGN: A recent community hospital series of gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) was reviewed and the total reported experience of GBC after LC was compiled. Diagnostic findings were compared for patients with GBC and a consecutive series of 24 patients who had LC for benign disease.

Meningiomas in the third ventricle are rare, with only very few cases reported in the literature. We report a case of primary third ventricular anaplastic meningioma in a 49-year-old man who presented with progressive weakness of the left limbs and headache. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a tumor which seemed to arise from the right thalamus and extending into third ventricle. The tumor was heterogeneously enhanced with gadolinium. This study examined the possible presence of malignant cells in ovarian cortex from patients with ovarian tumors after xenografting of the ovarian tissue into severe combined immunodeficiency mice. None of the mice presented symptoms of reintroduced malignancy nor did microscopic and immunohistochemical evaluation of the grafts raise any suspicion of residual malignant disease.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this article is to review the spectrum of early and delayed abnormal cross-sectional imaging findings after radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of hepatic tumors.
CONCLUSION: Recognition of abnormal post-RFA imaging findings and differentiation of abnormal findings from normal postprocedural changes are important for diagnostic and interventional radiologists. Early identification of residual or recurrent disease and complications can facilitate timely retreatment, management, and follow-up care.

The case of a 49-year-old man with multiple pleuropericardial implants of B2 thymoma is reported. Two years earlier, the patient had undergone left videothoracoscopic (VATS) resection of a 6-cm thymoma in another hospital. The operative report describes a technically correct procedure with morcellation of the lesion within a retrieval thoracoscopic bag. Through a standard thoracotomy, 11 implants were resected with macroscopically complete tumor removal. The origin of cell spillage was ascribed to manipulation of the thymoma during VATS resection.

We report 2 cases of malignant ovarian tumours. These tumours had been missed at a first laparoscopic examination, and a second examination detected the presence of cancer cells disseminated in the peritoneum and the abdominal wall.
