Membranous glomerulonephritis is the most common glomerular disease associated with malignancy, the association of minimal change glomerulopathy with solid tumor is still uncommon. We report a 72-year-old man with nephrotic syndrome due to minimal change glomerular disease; an accurate seek of underlying malignancy revealed a cecum adenocarcinoma. We had a complete remission of nephrotic syndrome after surgery of carcinoma.

Simultaneous occurrence of IgA nephropathy and sarcoidosis is described in a 42-year-old Asian female, who earlier had a steroid-resistant, no light microscopy change nephrotic syndrome that resolved spontaneously. Occurrence of three, apparently unrelated conditions in this case may be fortuitous, or causally related. We discuss the possible causal relationship amongst these conditions.

Three cases presenting with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and minimal change nephrotic syndrome (MCNS) are reported in this paper. All cases were female; they abruptly developed nephrotic syndrome at the age of 30, 11 and 23 years, respectively. In Case 1, the diagnosis of SLE was based on fever, butterfly rash, Raynaud's phenomenon, leukopenia, lymphopenia, hypocomplementemia, a high titer of anti-DNA antibodies, positive DNA and LE test, and the presence of anti-nuclear antibodies (speckled pattern). In Case 2, the diagnosis was based on butterfly rash, central nervous system involvemen

We describe the case histories of three septuagenarians with nephrotic syndrome who would not have been thought likely to have had minimal change disease on clinical grounds. Yet in the three patients all non-sclerosed glomeruli were normal on light microscopy and glomerular immunofluorescence was negative. All three showed a good clinical response to steroids. It is clear from our findings that, in the elderly, clinical criteria are not a reliable guide to renal histology and may lead to a potentially treatable condition, minimal change nephropathy, being overlooked. Because of the high incid

Nephrotic syndrome associated with extra-renal malignancy shows a characteristic pattern: carcinoma is most frequently associated with membranous glomerulonephritis and Hodgkin's disease with minimal change nephropathy. We report a patient with minimal change nephropathy in association with anaplastic carcinoma of the bronchus. Strong temporal evidence of a causal relationship is presented. The dissociation in the response of the two conditions to treatment of the tumour after relapse may be evidence of an indirect pathogenesis.

BACKGROUND: The combination of minimal change disease and solid tumors is uncommon, and its mechanism is often associated with immune disorders or metabolic abnormalities. CASE PRESENTATION: Here, we describe an 8-year-old girl who presented with nephrotic syndrome characterized by edema and proteinuria as the initial symptoms. Chest imaging incidentally revealed the presence of a chest mass. Subsequently, a PET/CT scan ruled out the possibility of renal infiltration. Following surgical resection of the mass, pathological examination ultimately confirmed it as neuroblastoma. However, even afte
