Supramolecular nanogels with high drug-loading capacity were prepared via electrostatic crosslinking of cationic polyethyleneimine (PEI) with hepta-anionic lanthanide complexes, Ln3TCAS2 (Ln = Tb, Gd; TCAS = thiacalix[4]arene-p-tetrasulfonate), which act as both structural crosslinkers and theranostic agents. Experiments were designed to examine the effects of radiation dose-rate and cycloheximide on expression of cytoskeletal and matrix elements in Syrian hamster embryo cells. Data on the distribution of dicentrics and acentrics observed when human lymphocytes are cultured for 48 h after irradiation by X-rays, gamma-rays, and neutrons are presented. Analysis shows that for dicentrics, the observed distribution for X-rays, gamma-rays, and fission neutrons may be described by Poisson statistics but for higher energy neutrons overdispersion is observed.
