Anterior optic nerve blood flow was studied in nine patients with unilateral neurogenic optic atrophy using noninvasive techniques. Disk reflectometry measurements from temporal sites demonstrated a significant reduction in the index of blood volume in atrophic optic nerves as compared with the contralateral optic nerves (P less than 0.00001). This report describes a case of orbital B-cell lymphoma of extranodal marginal cell type with atypical clinical and radiographic features. This patient presented with choroidal effusion and optic disk swelling of the right eye. A CT scan revealed an intraconal mass surrounding the optic nerve and indenting the globe. A right orbitotomy with biopsy of the mass was performed. Histologic and immunohistochemical analysis confirmed a diagnosis of extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma. We examined a 67-year-old man who complained of headache and pain and decreased visual acuity in both eyes. The patient had dilated conjunctival and episcleral vessels, intracameral cells, shallow anterior chambers, hyperemic swollen optic disks, exudative retinal detachment and choroidal detachment. In two children referred to the author's clinic because of suspected retinoblastoma, pathologic fibroglial tissue was observed unilaterally in front of the macula and optic disk. Fluorescein angiography and ultrasonography indicated a posterior PHPV. In view of the morphological appearance the condition was termed "umbrella syndrome". There were no therapeutic consequences.

It also is important to follow the slowly progressive visual field defects many patients with ODD experience. The introduction of enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) has improved the visualization of more deeply buried ODD. ONA is one of the leading causes of irreversible visual impairment and disability across different age groups. This review presents current data on the epidemiology, clinical and demographic characteristics, pathogenesis, classification, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of ONA.

The advent of ocular imaging has revolutionized both the clinical management and research of glaucoma, establishing itself as a cornerstone of contemporary practice. In this review, we summarize the major advances in ocular imaging technologies and their contributions to the understanding, diagnosis, and monitoring of glaucoma over the past 2 centuries.
