A retrospective review of cecal and appendiceal complications occurring in young patients with acute leukemia since 1969 was performed. The objective of this study was to determine the relative incidence of appendicitis and typhlitis among patients with acute leukemia who had operation or autopsy in this institution as well as to determine the risks of operative intervention. A case is described of a left-handed patient with a circumscribed right-sided posterior brain lesion, who presented with a neuro-psychological syndrome of Wernicke's aphasia, ideomotor and ideatory apraxia. The aphasia and ideomotor apraxia cleared within 10 days, while ideatory apraxia persisted. Ideatory apraxia therefore was not dependent on the language disorder, nor was it related to ideomotor apraxia. Thirteen patients with paroxysmal atrial tachyaarhthmias (six atrial supraventricular tachycardia, six atrial fibrillation, and one atrial flutter) have been investigated by recording of monophasic action potentials (MAP) during a period free from arrhythmias. Evaluation was made of 17 patients who underwent conduit reconstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract (for anomalies other than truncus arteriosus) at the Texas Heart Institute between December, 1965, and June, 1974. A lesion to the right hemisphere of the brain in humans commonly leads to perceptual neglect of the left side of the sensorium. We report the first use of a stented pulmonic valve within the right atrial to right ventricular conduit of a patient who underwent a Björk modification Fontan for tricuspid atresia. In effect, a functional tricuspid valve was created. This case report demonstrates the feasibility of transcatheter valve replacement in positions other than the pulmonic or aortic valve and that future revision of conduits in the Björk modification Fontan can be performed percutaneously.

Right ventricular growth was assessed angiocardiographically in 18 patients with pulmonary atresia, intact ventricular septum, and hypoplastic and hypertensive right ventricle.
